Obituary of Robert Daniel Feery

Bob was a lot of things…a husband of 55 years to his beloved Yola, a father to Lea O’Leary and Bryan Feery, grandfather to Hanna, Bryan Jr ,Nicholas, Connor, Tyler and Chloe. He was a patriot, a veteran, UPS retiree, a coach and an avid UCONN fan. He loved nature, his flowers, and the outdoors.

Bob loved his new home in Jensen Beach, Florida, lovingly dubbed “On Bob’s Golden Pond”. He would spend hours watching the wildfire from his lanai. When not in Florida, Bob lived in Groton Long Point, Ct. He was a “fixture” on his front porch where he would read, smoke cigars, and say hello to every person that would talk to him. On the outside, Bob could be strong minded, but he would easily cry tears of joy over any accomplishment, big or small by his children or grandchildren.

When COVID hit, Bob and Yola lived in Jupiter, Florida, and each evening he would stand on his balcony and sing the star-spangled banner which brought tears to the eyes of the condo residents who all joined in from outside their doors. He was a true patriot who appreciated all he had and was grateful for living in the USA.

Bob also leaves behind his sister Jennifer Scriven, brother-in-law Vincent Carbone, sister- in -law Sheila and husband Jon Young, daughter- in- law Juliet Feery, a son-in-law Michael O’Leary, nieces Taylor and Alyssa Young and Erika Flynn and Kristen Norige.

The night before Bob’s passing, he was feeling his best and was at his happiest.

Bob will truly be missed by all.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 5 at 2 p.m. in Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Calling hours will be held from 11am to 2pm prior the service in the funeral home.
