Obituary of Helene Mattern

Helene (Jornitz) Mattern, 95, of Glastonbury, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at home. She was born in Heidewilcsen, Germany on December 10, 1919. Helene worked hard all her life as a nurse in Germany and as a Master Mechanic at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. She leaves a daughter Irene Eddy of Glastonbury, a sister, Hannah Rumland and a niece Gisela Rumland-Mex, both of Germany. She was predeceased by her husband Rudolf Mattern and a daughter Ute Mattern. After cremation, her ashes will be returned to Germany. The family would like to thank Senior Care of East Hartford for taking good care of Helene for many years.
